Ready to hit bowel cancer for six?
Once you’ve registered, the next step is to get fundraising towards your $300 individual fundraising minimum. Cancer Council’s Undies Run is all about celebrating the most dedicated fundraisers—so only those who raise $300+ will get to run in their undies in front of a massive Adelaide Oval crowd.
But why stop there? We’ve got the tips, resources, incentives and hands on support to help you reach your fundraising goal, no matter how ambitious!
Step 1: Make it personal
Your supporters want to know why it is that you’re so passionate about taking part in Cancer Council’s Undies Run. Help them connect to the cause and your campaign by personalising your fundraising page with a photo and/or video, sharing your story, and using the templates available to build your own emails that you can send out to everyone you know.
Step 2: Get social
The more you spread the word, the more you’ll raise—so post regularly across all your networks. Work your Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat or even email and be sure to include a link to your fundraising page. Don’t forget to tell everyone where their money goes when they donate!

Step 3: Boost your total
Struggling to convert your hard work into dollars? Try asking for a certain amount, like $40, to help people benchmark their donation. Better yet, get the ball rolling with a self-donation. More often than not, a higher first donation results in a bigger end result. Don’t forget to let everyone know that you want to raise at least $300, and you‘re relying on their donation to help you get there! Copy the text below and send it to your friends!
"Hi! Would you believe that I’m running in Cancer Council’s Undies Run on the 21st of January? That’s right, I’m stripping down and running around Adelaide Oval in front of 40,000 people to raise money for bowel cancer research. And I would LOVE your support! I’ll be running alongside 199 other runners, so everyone’s contribution will make a huge impact for South Australians affected by bowel cancer. Bowel cancer is currently the second leading cause of cancer death in South Australia, claiming over 400 lives every year. Please make a donation today, it would mean a great deal to me. Together we can knock bowel cancer for six!"
Step 4: Offer other ways to donate
There’s no wrong way to donate to Cancer Council’s Undies Run. You can send your supporters a link to your fundriaing page or ask them to call Cancer Council SA on 1800 65 65 85 to pay by credit card!
