In memory of someone special
Rachael was the youngest in our family. She was a wonderful singer
and actor. She was working successfully and developing her career as a talented
speech pathologist. Having fought off cancer as a child, she had to fight again
as an adult. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2019. She did not give
up, even as the disease took her so quickly after her initial diagnosis. She
was loved and cherished by many. We miss her every day.
The survival rate is much lower for pancreatic cancer than
other cancers as it’s usually not diagnosed until later stages of the disease. Rach
had decided soon after her diagnosis that when she’d come through it, she was
going to dye her hair purple, as a conversation starter to raise both awareness
and funds to fight pancreatic cancer. While she didn’t get the chance, donations
in her memory will help improve outcomes for those in the future diagnosed with
the disease. #sisters3 #dryjulysisters
